S.H.Figuarts CycloneJoker with Hardboilder
CycloneJoker is the primary form of Kamen Rider W (Kamen Rider Double), and is coloured green and black. The black side is the body side which is controlled by Shotaro, whereas the green side is the “soul” side controlled by Phillip. In the CycloneJoker form, Double’s kicks are powered by wind which increases the damage and adds cutting potential.
The Hardboilder (ハードボイルダー), designated the “MB1000RV” is Kamen Rider W’s personal Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle. Just like CycloneJoker, the bike is black and green in colour, and is also able to change forms by swapping out the back half of the motorcycle.

The S.H.Figuarts line has a standardized design of packaging across all the figures, with different colour schemes and graphics depending on the character sold. I quite like this as the box is very streamlined and space efficient. It also means if you do keep boxes of your toys, they are easily stackable for storage. The box for the bike is larger, but done in the same style as the figure so it’s easy to tell (even if you don’t know the story) that these two go together.
In the CycloneJoker form, Double does not use any weapons hence none are included. He does come with a pair of mufflers (scarf), one up and flowing, one resting on the back. He also comes with three extra pairs of hands for different poses, a set of which allows Double to grip and ride the Hardboilder.
As I mentioned before in the HeatMetal review the S.H.Figuarts interpretation of Kamen Rider Double looks slim compared to its TV counterpart – which I don’t mind at all. The detailing on these figures are amazing, the chest engraving, ankle and wrist band details are different across all Kamen Rider Double toys, they aren’t simply repaints of the same figure!
The Hardboilder machine is a great looking bike. It is nicely detailed including treaded rubber wheels, die-cast engine casing, drive chain detail (non-movable), disk brake detail and working kick stand. The Hardboilder is also made perfectly in scale for Kamen Rider Double.
With around 34 joints, this is really a super action figure. In the feet alone, there are 4 joints each side, the toe bend, ankle roll, ankle tilt and ankle rotate. Every possible pose you can think of, you can make with this guy. With most action figures, they tend to look awkward when place in/on vehicles, not so with Double. You can see he looks very natural riding his machine.
CycloneJoker looks glorious half coated in a nice glossy metallic green which contrasts well with the semi-glossy black on the other side. All of the details are very well painted, clean with no mistakes visible. The belt has also been well painted considering the scale, really it’s all good!
Despite the awesome paint job on the figure, the Hardboilder Machine seems to have been left out a bit. Most of the large bits like the brake discs are painted, however there are no dials / speedometer decal applied or printed on the cluster for the bike.
Here are a few details which are cool on the bike that I’d like to share with you. Nice working kickstand, very stable and tight fit. The bike can be split in two, for interchangeable parts (sold separately which I don’t have). The Hardboilder machine also features working rear suspension with good amount of spring travel.
CycloneJoker is my favourite of all Kamen Rider Double’s forms, and being able to get him with his Hardboilder machine is great! I really like this set, and I don’t think I have to tell you, if you’re a fan of Kamen Rider Double (W), or the S.H.Figuarts line, then this is a definite must get! (But I just did anyway haha).
Thanks for reading guys!
